Chinmayi Shalya is Senior Fellow at the Global Climate and Development Institute (GCDI) at Swaniti Global. She is working to advance research and engagement on inclusive energy transition, diversification of state-owned enterprises in the fossil-fuel sector, and mechanisms for fair and equitable access to, and extraction of critical minerals.

She has previously worked with International Forum for Environment, Sustainability and Technology (iFOREST) and Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in Delhi. Furthermore, she was also a journalist at The Times of India in Mumbai.

Her expertise lies in data and evidence driven research with a focus on equitable and inclusive just energy transition, benefit sharing with local communities in extractive geographies, socio-economic resilience and sustainable economic growth. She also believes in multistakeholder engagement for informed policy consensus and decision.
