Dr. Aditya Ramji, an economist specializing in sustainable transportation, electric mobility, and supply chains, leads the India and Global South Clean Transportation and Energy Program at University of California, Davis, driving research initiatives on policy and regulatory frameworks for zero emission transport in developing economies

Dr. Aditya Ramji is an economist, focusing on sustainable transportation, electric mobility, and supply chains. He holds a PhD in Transportation Technology and Policy from the Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS), University of California, Davis. He co-founded the India and Global South Clean Transportation and Energy Program at University of California, Davis, and currently serves as its Director, overseeing research programs focused on policy and regulatory design for advancing zero emission transport in developing and emerging economies as well as critical minerals and supply chains for energy transitions.  

Prior to this, Aditya worked with the Managing Director’s Office, at Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., a leading automotive major from India, where he focused on the automotive sector. He was closely involved with the overall business strategy as well as the company's vision on electrification, new mobility solutions, and product strategy.  Prior to joining Mahindra, he worked with two leading think tanks in India – the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), both based in New Delhi, India. During this time, his work focused on energy modeling, energy access, and transport decarbonization.  

He has represented at various national and international forums, including policy discussions with regulators and various government entities, and has also served in various capacities to international organizations and the government.
